These twisted, spiral, chimney shaped treats are not just delicious, but fascinating to watch being made right before your eyes, using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation.

Chimney Cake

English name often used, as the traditional names are too difficult for most to pronounce. When the hot & steaming cylindrical product is baked, it resembles a Chimney!

Kürtőskalács

Kürtös kalács has a Transylvanian origin. It was a typical festive treat made by Hungarians at special events such as wedding celebrations.

Makara

A brand name created by a customer of ours from Turkey. Makara was featured in a popular Turkish drama called “Kuzey Guney”.

Trdelnik

Trdelníky or Trdlo are words of Czech or Slovak origin. If you visit Prague you will see many vendors on the streets making & baking the product for the crowds of hungry tourists.

Kurtosh

You say it as it’s spelt, making it an easier word to pronounce than any of its original Eastern European names.

Baumstriezel

Germans & Austrians often sell ‘Tree cake’ at their famous Christmas markets, usually accompanied with a hot wine known as “Glühwein”.
